Top Reasons to Consider a One-Day Bathroom Renovation

The one-day bathroom renovation is a relatively recent idea, and it might reasonably be asked, if it’s such a good thing, why haven’t we all been doing it all along? That’s a fair question, but a rather negative one. Just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s a gimmick.

Maybe the bathroom fitters of the world just got tired of people moaning about having workers and disruption in the house, and couldn’t they speed things up a little? Or did a customer suggest it to a company one day, and everybody thought: eureka! Because it is a brilliant idea. A one-day bath replacement or a one-day shower renovation: why not?

After all, some things don’t actually take very long to do, and depending on what you need, putting a short time limit on it can be perfectly reasonable.

Are you thinking of revamping the bathroom for a specific reason, like someone coming to visit, or is this intended to be a long-term upgrade for the property? Either way, if the bathroom is basically in pretty good condition, a one-day bath remodel can be perfect. It depends on how much work is needed to bring the room up to the standard you want to achieve. If a quick change of fittings is all it will take to do the trick, a one-day job can make a lot of sense. Here are four key reasons.

Reason 1: It Costs Less

One day’s labor costs are less than a week’s worth. In addition to that, if less work is done, that means fewer items to buy, because there is only so much that can be done. So, it can’t cost the earth because there isn’t so much of it.

Reason 2: There is No Point in Doing More Than is Necessary

The standard way of thinking about a bathroom renovation is to blitz the whole place. But does it really need blitzing? How about a targeted approach? We’ll just do this. That’s all we need, and it will make all the difference. In an age when the motto is “less is more” and we’re being encouraged to reuse, recycle, and repurpose, if something isn’t broken, why fix it? If you take a cold, hard look at your bathroom and it’s really quite okay but could do with a bit of a lift, here is your answer. If it needs more than that, then it’s not for you.

Reason 3: It Will Minimize the Upheaval

It’s an inconvenience having people working in the house. If they are making the bathroom, that most important of rooms, unavailable, that is the most intrusive thing of all. Okay, it’s got to be done, and they may be perfectly nice people, but whichever way you look at it, it’s inconvenient. If you only have to put up with it for one day, that may be doable.

Reason 4: You Can Achieve a Lot in One Day

There are limitations, of course, but think what could be done in no time at all. A skilled worker can replace a tap or two in the time it takes to make a cup of coffee. A showerhead doesn’t take long, either. They can put up a new shower screen in an hour or two. Even a complete shower cubicle. Or a new bath. Maybe a walk-in bath. Stick a stylish new mirror on the wall and that can make a very noticeable difference to the ambience. Replace the towel rails with something more attractive. Maybe get a nice heated chrome one. If safety and mobility issues are on your mind, you can get some grab handles fitted at the same time.

As for the lighting, which makes such a difference to any part of the house, new fittings don’t need to take an age to install. If you’re looking to banish the gloom with a warm glow or soften the effect of a glaring old bulb, with a bit of careful thought, you can get the desired result. Lights around the mirror, movie star style? Lighting has moved on enormously in recent years.

The smart thing to do is to consult the company you’re going to use and see if they have any advice, because they work on this sort of thing all the time, and they may have suggestions you’ve never even considered.

You can also ask some specific questions, such as, do you offer warranties or guarantees on your work, or what materials do you recommend for a durable, low-maintenance bathroom? Or maybe how eco-friendly are your bathroom remodeling options?
