Undertaking a full bathroom remodel is not for the faint of heart. Here’s what to think about before you start.
Are you ready for a full remodel?
Before you commit, think about why you want to remodel. Then consider whether a full ground-up project is the only way to get there.
If your shower looks beat up but your vanity and floor are fine, a one-day wet area remodel is probably the right scope. If you want the whole room redone, the Baths R Us Full Bathroom service handles shower, floor, toilet, and vanity in just 3 to 5 days. If you only want cosmetic updates, see our refresh-without-remodel guide.
Understand what’s involved
Planning a full redesign typically takes a few weeks of decisions. With Baths R Us, that planning happens during a free consultation with a design consultant who walks through your bathroom, your goals, and your budget, and produces a quote.
The construction phase varies by scope:
- One-day wet area remodel: 1 to 2 days of on-site work
- Full Bathroom remodel with Baths R Us: 3 to 5 days
- Tile-based Full Bathroom with another remodeler: typically 3 to 6 weeks
That speed isn’t magic. It comes from US-made custom-fit acrylic that doesn’t need tile cure times, W2 install crews who show up every day, and a focused scope that excludes the slowest parts of a renovation (electrical and major plumbing).
Tips to save money
Keep the layout. Changing the layout means moving plumbing, which adds cost. Our design consultants will work hard to give you the look you want without moving major plumbing.
Use luxury fittings strategically. Premium fittings add up fast. Pick one or two statement pieces and keep the rest mid-range.
Don’t pick the cheapest contractor. A low quote often means corner-cutting elsewhere or 1099 sub crews who rotate from job to job. Look for W2 install teams with manufacturer-backed warranties.
Renovation budgets: what do they get you
Note: figures below are typical ranges for a mid-size bathroom in our service area for a Full Bathroom remodel. One-day wet area remodels are a separate, lower-cost path.
$20,000 to $35,000: basic bathroom renovation
Replace the shower or tub area, vanity, toilet, and flooring. Stay with the existing layout. Mid-range fixtures and finishes.
$36,000 to $64,000: mid-range bathroom
Same scope with premium finishes, optional layout adjustments, and luxury extras like a smart toilet, premium vanity, or a rainfall shower head.

What’s not included in a Baths R Us renovation
Being upfront about scope saves everyone time. Baths R Us does not handle:
- Electrical work (your electrician)
- Painting (your painter)
- Major plumbing reroutes (a plumber)
- Tile, stone, or grout
If any of those are a deal-breaker for you, we’ll tell you during the consultation and recommend you find a different fit.
